Career wrecker “Fifty per cent of people want to sleep with me, and the other 50 per cent want to kill me,” Rachel Marsden confessed to this scribe in November 1997. The SFU student’s allegations of sexual
harassment by swim coach Liam Donnelly led to his dismissal earlier that year. Then Donnelly triggered a media firestorm by producing evidence that Marsden had harassed him. Marsden was last heard blaming the press for raking her over the coals; which is ironic, since she took a journalism program at BCIT and resurfaced briefly last August to apply for an editorial job at The Vancouver Courier. (Her application was rejected.)
